Hey Everyone! In case you have missed it, I've moved my blog to
I'm putting up new posts over there for ya!
I visited Edinburgh earlier in the year, and absolutely adored it. It's a city that holds some of my favorite memories of travelling with my friends. I'm putting up this list of ten things to do in Edinburgh that you really must while you're there!
- Hike King Arthur's Seat. It will be tough if you're not used to hiking, but I promise you the view is worth it.
2. Walk the Royal Mile. The street between Edinburgh Castle and Hollyrood castle is gorgeous and has so much going on.
3. Eat at Oink. If you like BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, go here. It's amazing.
4.Visit Tom Riddles Grave. A little off the Royal mile is the site, where J.K Rowling found inspiration for "he who shall not be named".
5.Visit Greyfriar's Bobby (the dog) statue. This little dog's owner passed away and he visited his grave site until he also passed away. Really sad, now people can rub his little nose for good luck!
6.Walk up to Edinburgh Castle. It's a little bit of a climb if you go through the park (which is gorgeous). The view of the city is amazing.
7.Visit the market for a fresh snack. I've been living on croissants.
8.Stop by the Elephant House Cafe. JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter here, it's right down the block from the dog statue, and right around the corner from Greyfriar's Graveyard.
9. Stop into the Scottish National Art Gallery. There are some pretty cool paintings there, it's also a nice way to catch your breath after walking around the city all day long.
10. See the REAL Diagon Alley. Edinburgh holds many of the things that inspired the Harry Potter books, including a little alley with a beautiful mural.
I loved visiting Scotland and know that I didn't do everything that there si to do in Edinburgh. Which means I will have to come back again someday. Have you been to Edinburgh? What is your favorite thing to do there?
One thing that I love about traveling to other places, is getting to know how the locals live. My mom did the research for this one, and soon found Prague Food Tours. With 6 days in Prague, it was a clear choice that we would have to spend one day sampling all of the local foods!
We chose Praguefoodtour.com to do our tour through. It was honestly one of the best experiences. Our tour guide, Leona was so nice! We started off by meeting at a hotel near our rental apartment and then going to our first restaurant, Cafe Imperial. It was so beautiful.

We learned that the Czech people eat their big meal at lunch (and let me tell you they did not disappoint!). We had soup first, which was delicious! Then you can pick from three options the guide gives you.
We learned about traditional Czech meals, and I had fun sampling each dish my family members got! We also learned that the Czech people love mushrooms, and instead of blueberry picking they love to go and pick the mushrooms. They know all about them!
After stuffing our bellies, we went onto our next stop! It was called Lokal. A place to check out Czech bar food. They had fried cheese. My favorite. They also had marinated mozzarella and my families favorite...steak tartar. I'm not a fan of raw meat but they loved it.
We stopped at a local bar as well, to have a break from eating and to taste some of the fun local drinks! We ended the tour by walking across one of the bridges to my favorite part of any meal...dessert! We had little sandwich bites first, and those were delicious too! The last place was called Cafe Savoy, really pretty and only a short walk from Charles Bridge!

But the Czech people do pastries right! The food tour was so much fun and I would highly recommend it. If you need to find out more information check out Leona's website by clicking HERE I hope if you're ever in Prague, you seriously consider this day trip. Aside from walking place to place (they're really close together), you learn about the history of the country as well and can ask the hosts anything you'd like!
They also have this cool option of going hiking and eating food. Which sounds like fun so obviously I will have to come back to do it!
Have you ever been on a food tour before? Where did you go and what did you love about it?
Europe really surprises me. It's just so easy to go from one country to the next. In the states, if I drive 4 hours south, I'll still be in the same state. It's not as cool.
While my family and I were planning our trip to Prague, we decided to spend one of the days doing a day trip to the Saxon-Switzerland National Park. It's situated in the North of Czech and shares some of the southern border of Germany. It wasn't that long of a drive, we left after breakfast and arrived before lunch time for some hiking and sightseeing.
Saxon-Switzerland does not mean you're going to Switzerland. I could tell you how gorgeous it is, but I'll let the photos speak for themselves!
The Elbe River flows through the park, which is pretty cool. Our tour even included a meal halfway between which was delicious! Especially the dessert!
Have you ever been to Saxon-Switzerland National Park? If you haven't, what is your favorite national park?
I hope you're still enjoying these posts, I'm trying to spread them out so you can enjoy them all summer!
See ya next time!

Driving from Czech Republic into Germany
We visited both sides of the park, and our guide Tony gave us so much information as we went along. Like on the German side near the Bastei Bridge, there was a castle built into the rocks! It was pretty high up, and I can't even imagine having that view everyday!

Before I visited Prague someone told me that it was like "stepping into a painting." and I loved that image. I loved looking forward to that moment.
And let me tell you, Prague did not disappoint. While the temperature was a bit chilly, it was still beautiful. We walked along the cobblestone streets and turned the corner to look at the Astronomical clock on our first day in the city.
Prague still had Easter holiday decorations up in the squares which made them more colorful and we were able to try some of the foods! Being from the cheese state I jumped on the first chance to get some cheese!
Walking around Prague was absolutely wonderful. It was kind of surreal that this was my last European adventure of the year, and that my family was in the city with me. We wandered around the little shops until it was nearly time for dinner. We ate at this great place called Einsteins and while everyone else had pizzas, I ordered the cheese gnocchi. It was amazing, and homemade! Apparently a lot of Italian people had migrated through Czech and now there are places you can get authentic Italian foods! We spent other days discovering Charles Bridge, and visiting the Lennon Wall.
Visiting Prague was just like stepping into a painting everyday and I loved it. I hope you enjoyed this post, and would love to know if you've ever been there before! What city was like a painting to you?
See you next time!
Easter in Prague looked beautiful, and there was even a concert in the square when we got there. It reminded me that I really want to come back to Europe and visit the Christmas markets.
See you next time!
