Arizona Photo Post

2:00:00 PM

After writing multiple posts about my recent trip to Arizona, I discovered that I still had a ton of pictures left. So that leads me to this picture filled post. I hope you don't mind and I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Orange & Grape fruit trees were everywhere!

                                                                                                 A salted caramel brownie!

The fresh grape fruit were delicious!

A New Adventure; And turning One!

1:39:00 PM

I know I said I would throw in a few posts as well as the travel posts but life happened, and I honestly became too busy for my own good. I snatched up a second job, learned I was moving at the end of the month (the 24th), and I had a little over a week to pack. It was quite stressful, and scary because I had made so many great friends in the past few months because of work that I didn't want to leave them. But I also didn't want to fall further behind in school so here I am. In a new room. With a roommate. And yes I did bring my goldfish with me.
But even though being in a new town is scary when you leave the old...it's exciting once you get there. And I'm really excited to share all of it with each of you. Also, on January 24th was the 1st birthday of Behindhazeleyes! And I just wanted to take a quick second to thank you. Like actually truly thank you. Because I never thought (and I know this is cliche) but I really didn't think people would read it..at least not from 37 different countries, multiple times.
I know this post was a bit wordy and I'm sorry, I have a picture post coming up and a lot less..wordy ones as well!

I hope you're all having a great weekend!

Up in the Clouds

3:11:00 PM

After saying farewell to my grandparents, we drove back to Phoenix. This time to climb Camelback mountain and spend time seeing the city. A downside of being in the city of Phoenix is that at the time, which nobody considered, we had actually arrived in the midst of the bowl games for football. Which resulted in no parking spots at once side of the mountain. Defeated for the moment, we ended up in Old Scottsdale.
It's a pretty little part of town, filled with shops and art exhibits. I ended up getting the one souvenir I had wanted, a mug that says Arizona on it!
I did take a few pictures of course! Oh! I don't think I mentioned that I've been using my new camera that I had gotten for Christmas on this trip, which made it really exciting.

(Sorry I can't really put these pictures side by side I'm not really sure how to do that just yet!)

After wandering about, we did decide to go to an alternate trailhead at the other side of the mountain and I was really glad! Having eaten sooooo poorly during the holiday and not being able to venture far on some of the day trips, it felt really nice to get out and exercise(I know I'm strange). My sister on the other hand, was not thrilled what-so-ever and complained halfway up the mountain and stopped finally when she was too cross to finish.
So up I went. Straight to the top. Snapping pictures as I climbed.

It had incredible views. Sadly we started too late and didn't have much time to be on the top!
At the end of the night, we ended up back in Scottsdale and had a lovely dinner at a restaurant called Daily Dose. I'm actually contemplating doing a full on review post about how it was. Let me know if you'd like to read one of those!
I mean look at how pretty my salad was!
After that day, we went on home.
I'm not going to lie, the trip had it's ups and downs but all do I suppose. All in all, it was great to be away from the snow and in the sunshine just for a little while.
Being home is bittersweet as it's also the first time coming home from a vacation without having Sadie there to greet us. I still do miss her a lot. It's still hard sometimes. But I don't like to talk about it really.
So I'll just put a picture of her here.

Thanks for reading guys! I hope you all aren't too cold wherever you live!
Let em know if you want me to do a review of the restaurant or if you'd like to see more photos of the trip, I have loads! So maybe just a picture post?
Have a great day!

Casual trip to London?

3:00:00 PM

In Arizona there is a town called Lake Havasu, it's close to Parker and on the 7th day of my vacation that's where we went. First, we took a detour to see the wild burrows, they're also called donkeys. They were so cute! People have been able to feed them, so when we did stop a few adventurous souls would slowly wander towards the vehicle!
There were a few babies as well and they were adorable.

These two reminded me of my friends cats, as they play fight too!
After viewing the burrows/donkeys we moved on into the town.
I've always had a fascination with the city of London, and there is a bridge in Lake Havasu that was actually build in London, the guy had bought it for the city and moved it to Arizona. Because of the bridge being built, they consider a small part of the area an actual part of the City of London itself. So technically I was in London...without actually have gone to England.
We walked along the river, as most of the shops were closed (it's a hotspot during Spring Break in the states). It was still gorgeous.

(see technically London!)

The river walk might have been my secret favorite part between the beginning and that point of the vacation, but I was also really excited to go hiking at our next destination!
I can't wait to write about that for you guys!
I hope you enjoyed this one as well!

Trip to the Southwest pt 4

2:00:00 PM

If you've been keeping up on these blog posts I hope that you're enjoying them! After leaving Palm Springs we traveled through the Joshua Tree National Forest. It was cold. Probably about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, though I would have liked to explore some of the trails had we packed along some of our winter jackets. Though we also probably couldn't have done any extra exploring since we were somewhat limited in what we could do with my grandfather, who doesn't like to do much that doesn't involve a spot to sit. As we drove through I started to miss my best friend..and my goldfish.
The park offered many lookouts and I couldn't help but also imagine that the scenery would be perfect had dinosaurs roamed about (which thankfully they do not).

After the Joshua Tree trip, we got to relax the next day. Which also happened to be the very last day of 2014. Spending New Years Eve in a retirement village might not have been as much fun as hanging out with friends but I'm pretty sure my friend was going to bed early anyway if she had to work the next day. And the New Years Eve blog post had gone up that day also! I hope you've read it! It's right here if you haven't!
The vacation blog posts are almost over! I hope you're enjoying them!
