H&M: Fall Loves

7:00:00 AM

Fall

I'm one of those people who love summer. The warmth, the light, the heat (even when people complain). I live in flowy t-shirts and leggings all summer and love it. While I do have to admit, I finally came to terms with the fact that it is now Fall, and went on a fall adventure in my newest favorite from one of my top-stores H&M.

Bridge

Having really fun outfits to wear during the Fall months make getting cold weather a little more bearable. The other day, I went out adventuring with a friend to a spot near my University to take some photos.

Outfit of the day

I am all about being outdoors before the snow comes. I really am a wimp when the weather gets cold. I would prefer wrapping myself in a blanket, drinking a warm beverage and watching Netflix.
The day was gorgeous and we got to enjoy the fall colors that Wisconsin gets this time of year,we visited the nearby Farmers Market one last time, grabbing some homemade Monster cookies and ended our fun with the perfect meal at Noodles. Pesto cavatappi yes please!

Autumn Adventure

9:30:00 AM

Well, here we are. It's the middle of the semester. A couple weeks ago, my University declared one of the weekends 'Parent's Weekend'. It's also called Family Weekend, and it's a nice way to get the family together and show them around campus and town. It was such a great weekend, so I thought I would share a few bits of it with you guys here!

It was a cool, crisp Autumn day to begin with. Though that's typical here in Wisconsin this time of year, it was so beautiful outside. My dad and his girlfriend picked me up from the dorm and met my roommate before we went off to meet my mom and step-dad at the farmers market (which I visited back in this post.) It wasn't difficult for them to find us since I had stopped to pet the cutest dogs for at least five minutes.

Here's a photo of the bridge, everything is so beautiful yet. I'm so glad this weekend turned out to be very nice weather-wise for us all to explore.

We ventured to a not-so-secret spot that I found by myself last semester to check out the fall colors.

After hiking about, and scaling down the steepest hillside (I honestly felt like I was sitting while walking just to get to the bottom). Our tummies were hungry and we decided to head back downtown to have a lunch together.

I ordered this delicious Cider Salad, with goat cheese on a brushetta bread. The place was set in an old building which was really neat, and I think it's safe to say everyone enjoyed their food. After craving cheesecurds for the longest time, I finally snagged some and they were delicious! There were actually pieces of bacon in them as well. The salad balances that out...right?

I then lead them to my campus where I gave a tour, it's always fun showing people around, especially since not everyone gets together like this all in one place besides move-in day. This was much more relaxing and they could see all of the pretty parts of the campus. Some of us even scored some campus clothing to represent!
Afterwards, we split for about two hours, since my mom and step dad were staying over night and I was staying with them. A nice break from the roommate and closeness of the room. We all came together once again at a bar, which is the same bar that we all ate at my very first day before University!

This is the first time I ordered an alcoholic-adult beverage out at a bar since turning 21 last month! It was actually the best warm apple cider and Captain Morgan!

We then went to the restaurant a few doors down for dinner, it was amazing and I'm going to tell you all about it in a separate post because it was just that great. After our really nice dinner, it was time to go our separate ways. Though my mom, stepdad and I weren't too tired, we actually spent a good hour or so wandering the Super Target near our hotel. Only to have to make an emergency run back once I realized I hadn't packed my contacts solution or case. Oops!
The next day, we woke and had tea for me and coffee for them and went off to a very nice breakfast of pancakes, omelettes, bacon and eggs (though different things for everyone of course). I stopped off at the dorm, definitely not ready to be back, we were stopping at a new grocery store and a place called the Leinie Lodge in a town nearby.

The cool thing about going here is that it's part brewery and part shop. You can taste test the different beers. I've been coming here with my parents as we passed by on our way to Minnesota for ages, and I could never taste test the beer. Another first for me this weekend! I even got a souvenir cup. Don't worry, they give you clean ones!
I had the best time, and I think it's safe to say everyone else did too. It's such a nice thing to get away from the dorm and away from roommates (no offense), and just get out and do things with people who just want to be with you.
What do you do when your parents visit your University or school or even city if you're away?
Stay tuned for my restaurant review! Thanks for reading as always, leave a comment below I love reading them!

Fall Favorites

1:30:00 PM

If you're a blogger, do you ever mean to write up a post but then something else comes up and that post gets pushed back? That's what happened with this one. See I meant to post it in September, when Autumn was just beginning, not the beginning of November with only a few weeks left.
Sorry. Blame school, work, other posts that came before this one.
Autumn has come in full swing here in Wisconsin and that means I can bring out some of my favorite things!
I can finally pull out my fuzzy socks, and turn on the fireplace.
In no particular order, here are a few of my current favorite things this season.

Drinks;

Hot Tea
I love hot tea. When I'm really cold, or even just anxious, I can pick a favorite flavor and pop it into the hot water and let it steep. Usually my favorites fall between Raspberry or Blueberry but the last trip to the grocery store I picked up a new box of assorted flavors and I'm really excited to try them!

Ice Tea
Even though Ice Tea is more of a Summer type of thing, I really can't stop drinking it. I may or may not get a little shaky thinking about it if I haven't had any for awhile. And I may or may not be on my second one while typing this. (I am)

Apple Cider
This is definitely a drink you can have in Winter as well. A friend recommended an Apple Cider that has caramel in it with the cider, topped with whip creme and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It is incredible.
But it's also really sweet, so I unfortunately cannot have too much! Which might be good for me...and  my wallet.

Clothing;

Scarves
There is nothing better than wrapping a nice knit infinity scarf over a sweater or shirt.
My neck is warm and I'm extremely happy.

Outfit
My favorite outfit this fall is this white flowy shirt from H&M, skinny black jeans and my newest pair of Oxfords. Paired with this heart necklace from forever 21.

Songs;

Right now my favorite songs of the Fall are
Fireproof by One Direction
Always you by Maroon Five
Unkiss me by Maroon Five
and
Leaving California also by Maroon Five

Scenery;

Fall always brings the prettiest colors here in Wisconsin so I try to take a deep breath and love it as much as I can because the terrible Winter will be on its way.
I've had to get up pretty early for work but the sunrises are really beautiful. And I also leave school in the afternoon to see the colors on the hills in my town.

For right now, these are all of my favorite things this season!
What are some of your favorites? Do we have any in common?
I do love reading your comments so even if you have nothing to say just type hello!

See you in the next post!

Alone

Autumn Stroll

2:00:00 PM

I know this post might seem a bit late into the season already, but hey I've been busy!
I love this time of year. The weather usually isn't too hot and it isn't too cold! I can bring out my comfy sweatshirts and big scarves.
The leaves look so pretty with their orange, red and yellow colors.
This being said, I decided that I needed a break from taking almost twenty pages of notes and I had to get out of the house.
I hadn't gotten to use my nice camera in awhile and this was the perfect opportunity!
I got into my car, and headed off to a spot where I have gone to twice since Sadie passed.
It's peaceful there and I've always liked being by the water.

I hope you don't mind that this post is a little more picture-esque! I'm really happy with how these all turned out!
I didn't take too many as I thought the trail I was on, was a bit longer than it actually was. I didn't mind spending time wandering around a bit though.
Being out and taking the sights in was really stress-relieving and felt really good.
Though walking about by myself made me kind of lonely, and part of me wanted to invite someone along but the other part of me enjoyed my little alone time.

I hope you all are having a great season so far! Remember to follow me on twitter, instagram, bloglovin and pinterest!

Also!!!!!
I'm thinking about doing christmas cards this year and maybe opening a PO box, so if you think it'd be fun to exchange cards let me know! I love hearing from you!
