River Escape

10:30:00 AM

Summer has gone by so quickly, as usual. Lately I've been busy with work..and lots of it! I finished up my online math class awhile ago, which was a big weight off of my shoulders, then I was thrown into a whirlwind of 40 plus hours a week-work weeks. Honestly, I'm exhausted, it doesn't help that a lot of people are leaving..and things just aren't the same anymore.
This past weekend I had off two days in a row! My dad had taken the week off and we were finally able to do something.
Walking by the river, away from the city (and work) was really nice. It wasn't too hot outside and it wasn't too cold. Just perfect for capturing photos of the rapids and beautiful greenery.

Tree
The moss on every tree and every rock was a brilliant green color and I loved it.

Wild Flowers
This photo might have been my favorite to come out of the trip

We ended our hike at this spot not too far off, the sun was peaking out of the clouds every few minutes.
Also, this bunch of roots looked like some scary creature...definitely glad it wasn't dark out...

This excursion reminded me to just take in little moments, that it's important to get away..because these past few weeks have been awfully crazy and stressful (I may or may not have cried 3 times at work). It was also revitalizing, because the week to come includes, moving back to Uni, turning 21 and starting new classes, making new friends.

I hope you all are enjoying the last bits of your Summer! Any big plans or celebrations?
Have you moved into University yet?
Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile!

Spring Has Sprung

11:30:00 AM

The Summer is getting closer, I can almost taste the ice cream.
In all honesty, Wisconsin has a short Spring season, at least 4 or 5 weeks. But the weather is warm and all I want to do is go outside anyway.

Colorful

With the recent weather being somewhat unusually hot, I took it as the perfect opportunity to take even more photos around my campus, before joining up with a few girls who live on the same floor as me and going on a hike.
One of my favorite things is that I get to see these tulips everyday when I go to and from class. They are just beautiful and make me a little more excited that Summer is just around the corner. Right after exams.
I took plenty of pictures, and have one up on instagram for you to check out here.

Along with Tulips, another sign of Spring here of course, is the Robins (amongst other birds). It's always been a common thing to associate Spring with Robins. When you spot one, you know that warmer weather is on its way!

Bird

The next few photos are from when I was on the trail. I love discovering new places, so this little adventure was fun for me.

Rocks
It was extremely hot and humid this day that it was difficult to suppress the urge to jump into the river!

Wisconsin

I know this post was quick, but I hope you still enjoyed it! Now it's back to the books and getting ready to move back to my home town for the Summer months, and back to work.
I love finding new places I haven't been to before and I'm sure I will find more in the future!
Do you have any fun plans for the Summer? Any trails or new things that you're trying?
Let me know in the comments!
Also don't forget to follow me on twitter, bloglovin and instagram! I will follow you back! (just tweet, instagram, or leave a comment here! )
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Exploring near the river

1:00:00 PM

If you've been reading awhile you may have read that I've moved. It's exciting, a little nerve wracking at first but hey, that's life I suppose. Being in a new town and on my own I decided to make sure to pack my new camera (the really nice one I got for Christmas and used for those Arizona posts).
Anyway, I decided to use my first saturday here by exploring. It's a beautiful campus, and it's covered with a little bit of snow, not as much as last year, which I am perfectly fine with. So I can only assume it's twice as pretty in the Autumn when the leaves are full of color.
My university is set on the river, which makes for some pretty nice photos.
The weather wasn't too cold, I did look ahead to check and see which day would be best to go.

The water was so still, it was really pretty.

I also wandered into a park, where there were twisting trees, it was also on the river. There were squirrels running across a branch and darted into a hole in the tree, they went too fast and I wasn't prepared to catch a photo of them.
After wandering the park, I decided to go down an older street.

There was this cute little Fish made from scrap metal. I thought he was cute! Of course, he reminded me of my fish too. (Latte is currently enjoying his new life in college by the way.)
I did stop by a shop to grab a sweater that represented my university, as I actually had nothing, I'm not even sure why. But I am glad that I finally now have something.
The buildings on this street give it some character and actually make it look quite cute.
There was also a little bear statue along the way.
Isn't he cute?
After walking the length of the little shops that lined the street, the cold was starting to get to my fingers, though I didn't mind much. I do live in Wisconsin after all, and it hasn't been nearly as cold as last year, so I really shouldn't complain!
I did end up back on campus, spotting some ducks in the creek as I came up to a building.

See what I mean when I say, I can only imagine how pretty it is in the beginning of fall or even spring and summer when the grass is nice and green. I really can't wait to experience that. And besides, the sun would probably feel nice too.

I finished off the walk with my usual route back up to the dorm room, up some stairs. By some I mean a lot. It's a nice little walk back, and since I like doing things outdoors it was a nice break from homework and sitting in the room.
It also looks incredible at night here, and I promise when the weather warms up, I will take some night time photos for you, because they really should be shared.
I hope you like this post! Let me know what else you would like to read!
Have you gone back to school now? If you have, how is it? Do you have any difficult classes, or really fun ones?
I'd love to hear what you have to say in the comments!
Thank you so much for reading!
See you next time!

Sleeping Sadie

11:30:00 AM

First college spring break? How did I spend it?
Not like the movies, I'll tell you that.
In the movies, they always portray college students going somewhere south to a warm beach and partying and all of that, which was not what I was doing. ( I don't really party anyway? ) I actually didn't go anywhere for my Spring Break, even though my urge to just book a flight to Orlando for the YouTube Convention Play List Live was one to fight. I'm usually lucky enough to escape the colder weather of Wisconsin every year but this year I stayed home. Only because my sister and I have two different Spring Break weeks as she's in High school and well I'm in college. I wasn't disappointed though, I liked having the down time to wear sweatpants all day long and hang out with Sadie. We walked every day, coming home to having to give her a bath as the roads are really sandy and wet because THE SNOW IS FINALLY MELTING I THOUGHT WINTER WOULD NEVER END!!!!! I did watch a lot of shows I had been meaning to catch up on and even baked some cookies which I posted on and you can read it here if you haven't already!

I was a little disappointed by the people I call my friends because it seemed like nobody wanted to get together. But I didn't dwell on that too much, as I drank tea and wrapped myself burrito style in a big fluffy blanket. I did get a few bits of shopping done as I was looking for a pair of rain boots/wellies whatever you want to call them and a skater skirt. I also finished a book that I've had since this past summer called Oh My Stars and it was really good! It was kind of slow at some parts but I did enjoy getting to sit down and actually read it and relax.
I hope you all have had/are going to have a great Spring Break! Where are you going? Anywhere exciting? I of course took tons of Sadie pictures and did spend some time watching my favorite youtubers. Since I don't like not having a picture on my blog post here are some I took!

Clearly, tired from the days events

She lays around a lot but it's SO CUTE I JUST WANT TO SQUISH HER.

How cute is this one though?

I had told her we were going for a walk! Which reminds me, we tried out a different route this past Spring Break week when I went to my dads house, because it was sunny out and somewhat warmish? Sadie wanted to go further than normal plus I didn't think it would be too nice to walk on the trail we've been walking on, the one that's accessible by snowbank because of the melting snow. I would probably have fallen in too many times.

Then I saw an icicle on a tree branch and attempted to be artsy.

This is our daily, every morning cuddle session right after breakfast! I had stopped petting her to get this picture and she gave me this look!

I read somewhere that dogs stick out their tongues because they get overheated, so I guess she was trying to cool down. I just think it's so cute when she does it.
I hope you enjoyed this post! I enjoy putting these all together for you!
