Road Trip Tunes

7:30:00 AM

Road Trips call for two things: Great people and good music. While I took my roadtrip earlier this summer, I came up with a list of songs that I listen to when I drive from home to university that I love!

1. Drag Me Down by One Direction
2. Fire by Ed Sheeran
3. Hello by Adele
4. Hands to Myself by Selena Gomez
5. Cake by the Ocean by DNCE
6. Pillowtalk by Zayn
7. Viva La Vida by Coldplay
8. Sorry by Justin Bieber
9. Chandelier by Sia
10. I took a Pill in Ibiza by Mike Posner

These are just a few of the songs I've been loving at the moment, usually my playlist changes every month! What kind of music do you like to listen to in the car? Depending on how I'm feeling sometimes I'll just listen to one artist.
I hope you're all having a great day! Thanks for reading!

Album Review: Made in the A.M

1:00:00 PM

They've really done it this time. It's an entirely different sound, yet their voices are still the same but grown up. If you read my post about their concert (I'm still not over it). I wasn't going to write an album review, but I really really enjoyed this one and I know some people think "oh One Direction, how childish" They might have young fans, but who cares? If the music makes you feel good, makes you smile then why not just love it then?

While many fans had pre-ordered the album via Itunes, I still chose the old fashioned route and went out to the store to buy the hard copy. I got done with classes, hurried to my car and into my local Super Target (the thing is literally a mini shopping mall I love it.) I hurried back out to my car and tore off the packaging and popped the orange cd into the player. I immediately loved it and I cannot wait to be driving that two hour car journey home with these songs on repeat. This album has songs for everyone in all honesty, and I've come up with a list, in case you want to have a listen.

For Fun. If you're looking for a fun road-trip type song, they've got you covered.
Drag Me Down, Perfect, Infinity, End of the Day, Never Enough, Olivia, History, Wolves and What a Feeling are just a few that will help lift your mood and do the "nobody can see me" car dance. Just, be safe.

For Working Out. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Drag Me Down, Perfect, Temporary Fix and A.M are songs I could definitely speed-walk to in the sunshine. (Who runs?)

For Being Sad. There aren't many songs in general that have made me full on cry, but they've done it again. I cried during Little Things on their Take Me Home Album circa 2012 and I cried during Walking in The Wind. Though personally, it was probably because it reminds me of my dog who I still miss a lot. Other songs that are good for wallowing in that sad feeling are Love You Goodbye, I want to Write You A Song and Long Way Down.

This album is probably my favorite (until their next one comes out), but they've worked really hard on this one and it well paid off. As a fan, I know that the break they're about to go on after they promote their album is well deserved. Five years of touring and never being home. Can you imagine?
So thanks boys, for sharing everything you have thus far and I personally cannot wait to see what they're going to do next. Let's just stay out of trouble as much as we can yea? x

What are your thoughts on the album? Have you heard it? Any favorite songs? Mine seem to change everyday! If you want to read my last review of their album it's right here!
Can't wait to read all of your comments!

Back To School: Round 3

8:00:00 AM

It's that time again, your favorite bloggers are all writing tips and tricks on moving away for uni or starting up school again in the first place. This time I'm back at the University I transferred to and here's hoping that this semester is better than the last.

It's nerve-wracking moving away from home, you've spent your whole summer with friends, and probably working and now you're onto school, piles of books and heavy backpacks and who knows what you're going to be eating?!
I've already visited my favorite coffee shop once and ran to the store to buy a pack of pretzles. Who brings almond butter and nothing to eat it with? Me.
I'm a few weeks into my schooling by now so I thought I would share photos of my dorm room and a few tips!

Make your room "homey" If you see a decorative pillow at the store while out shopping for supplies, buy it. I got this owl one at Shopko and the London pillow was from a secondhand sale!
Bring memories from home Photos are going to make your room feel more like you live there as opposed to just staying in that room for awhile. It's also very helpful when you miss your pals and family back home. Everyone's lives get busy and it's hard to stay in touch...so...
Write letters! They don't give you an address and mailbox for nothing! Use it. I love getting mail, and I love writing letters and sending them off, especially if the other person has no idea that they're getting some mail. It's a nice break from garbage mail anyway.

Make sure to explore your campus. You'll probably do this with the friends you meet around you, but if you need a break from studying, or from the stress, it's a nice way to get out and see the campus and gain a clear mind!

That's all I have for now, you'll do great out there kids!
I was so nervous coming to school this year as my roommate and I were/are strangers, but we're getting to know each other and she's from Japan! Which makes this all very interesting in learning about different cultures. Of course we have differences, but fingers crossed that it'll all work out! I could probably write another post all about it at the end of the year perhaps.  If you're wondering about Latte, he has assumed his previous location on top of my desk in my room.

Thanks for reading, sorry if I disappear a bit, I'm probably out exploring new shops and places. I'll keep you guys posted! Here's hoping procrastination doesn't hit any of us too hard...
If you're back at school, what's your favorite thing so far? Do you have a roommate? If you're already done with schooling, what was your favorite subject? Let me know down in the comments!

We Danced All Night

10:33:00 AM

Going to a concert is a whirlwind. You buy the tickets months and months in advance, plan everything out, daydream about how one of the singers will make eye contact with you. As the days get closer it starts to feel unreal, you've gone through months of counting down, texting your friends that "it's so soon!" And finally the day comes. You're driving 3 hours to the stadium. Catching a shuttle to get you through the traffic, and then there you are. Waiting in line to get in.

Milwaukee

August 25th I saw One Direction for the second time.
My very first time was July 18th 2013 in Minneapolis, a state over.
This show was going to be special, because it was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The chances of them ever coming back here are very slim.
I bought my tickets right after class way back in October. It was my friends first time going to see the boys, and my first time having floor tickets. It was surreal. The first concert I went to, I came away with a double ear infection and pink eye. So this was going to be my do-over.
Miller Park was the only baseball stadium they were playing at. With so much uncertainty about the "break", and even more uncertainty about whether or not they would ever be back...it was a very important show. Also, Harry absolutely loves the Packers. He was so happy, from having the entire stadium boo a bears fan, to having us all do the "Go Pack Go" chant...you could tell he was so happy to be with his people.
Packers

The feeling was mutual Harry. It really was.
The songs were all incredible. The energy from the boys was great as well.
One Direction
Being without Zayn has really changed them, (For the better of course). but the way they took over his vocals, and stepped up was incredible. They all did fantastic, and it was so good to see their smiles in real life.

One Direction

The way Louis and Liam chased each other around the stage was hilarious, and made me feel so good about being there. Honestly, the way they all interacted with each other and us was just great all around. Harry actually told a 7 year old to wake up. What a guy.
It was like being in an arena with your four best friends and 42,000 of your other friends.

One Direction

And then Liam and Louis threw water on each other.

This is what the stadium looked like. Wow.
Milwaukee

I have never seen an artist perform twice, but I am very glad I saw them. It's definitely one of the best concerts I have ever gone to, and I know I don't really know them, but it feels like I have. If I'm having a bad day, all I have to do is turn on their songs. I had a rough go in high school and they got me through that and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. Whenever I have to wake up to open at 5am at work, all I have to do is turn on their albums and I'm ready for the day.
I know they'll never read this, and you might be reading this thinking "ugh one direction" but everyone has a band, everyone has someone that changes their life.
I honestly wouldn't have known half of the people I do now without them.
Thanks for being the best.
See you Soon hopefully.

What's your favorite One Direction song?? If you don't have one, who do you want to see in concert the most? I really want to see Ed Sheeran next!
Hope you're all having a good day!!

British

One Direction FOUR album Review

12:00:00 PM

Chances are, whether or not you wanted to, you have heard of One Direction.
The boy band consists of four British and one Irish lads. Louis, Liam, Zayn, Harry and Niall were all discovered on a British television show called the X Factor, not making it in the individual round, Simon Cowell decided that they would be best suited as a group, therefore forming One Direction.
And that was four years ago.
Since then, the boys have put out four albums, won countless awards and have multiple number ones in many countries.

Their latest album is called FOUR.
Being a fan of the band, I was really excited to pick up this album, as I do have tickets to go to their 2015 tour in August!
Their sound has changed since their What Makes You Beautiful days, but it's a good change.
The boys do their part in Co-writing songs with the likes of Ed Sheeran on the great track "18". If you turned on the radio right now you might hear "Steal My Girl" which is a fun upbeat song you can't help but sing along to.
The deluxe album also holds special tracks fans who bought the regular version won't be able to hear unless they buy it on itunes, such as "Act My Age" which is probably my favorite song right now as it's really fun and makes me want to dance around my kitchen.
"Stockholm Syndrome" is another one of my favorite tracks, as I just love the vocals in it.
The entire album in all honesty, is really well done and I cannot wait to hear these songs live in person. They're actually coming to Wisconsin. Finally.

I do hope you go check it out, look up some of these songs on Youtube if you're not too sure. If you have heard the album or a few songs which ones do you love the most? I'm glad I grabbed it!
